A Boy with his Nails Done is Still a Boy

Coming up against gender and Victorian lighting

I remember telling a friend of mine I would never use makeup, never do my nails, and never wear feminine clothes. It was only a few years ago. I swore I didn't care what other people did and that it had nothing to do with my perception of gender.
