In the lead-up to the rerelease of my novel, Out of Order, I’ve posted a lot about the LGBTQ publishing industry and what it’s been like for me to write, publish, and market my YA thriller with a bisexual main character.

In the spirit of #IndieApril and in appreciation of the many other fantastic queer books debuting in 2023, here’s a list of new and upcoming LGBTQ books that I’m excited about as a reader and can’t wait to add to my ever-growing TBR (to be read) pile.

1. Going Bicoastal by Dahlia Adler

What It’s About: In this queer Sliding Doors YA rom-com, a girl must choose between summer in NYC with her dad (and the girl she’s always wanted) or LA with her estranged mom (and the guy she never saw coming).

Why I’m Excited: I loved choose-your-own-adventure books as a kid. There’s something really fascinating about being able to see what might have been had a character…
