Anti-transgender bullies on the attack
When I phoned transgender author, advocate, and artist Bethany Beeler last night, I had a delightful conversation with a warm, charming, fiercely intelligent woman with a disarming sense of humor.
I called to find out how she’s handling being bullied by a pack of conservative American writers.
Bethany says she doesn’t seek out bullies, which matches my impression of her work as uniformly kind and patient. But as an alumna of the Roman Catholic University of Dallas, she recently felt the need to speak out against bullying and hate speech.
