The Sapphic fiction community is a beautiful thing. Previously known as the Lesfic community (and similar), but now more inclusively named, the community is primarily based on social media. It’s something that I’m really proud to be a part of. Writing can be a lonely business and after decades of quietly working towards my goals by myself, I love that there is such a warm and welcoming group of people out there that I can talk and relate to, even if we are spread all over the world! The community is full of passionate readers and writers who encourage each other and always have a kind or humourous word to share.

That isn’t to say there haven’t been some difficult times along the way. Any group of lovely people is going to be targeted at some time or another by individuals with malicious intentions, and there have certainly been people who have taken advantage by pretending to be someone they aren’t, or claiming they’re ill for financial gains. What I appreciate most about Sapphic authors and readers is that as a group, we haven’t let those people stop us from being kind or helping those who need it. Lessons have been learned, dark days have been survived, but everyone still wants to support each other and continue to…
