I couldn’t help but wonder…how did they ever get away with this?

On my recent trip to Europe, the plane ride was the best part. I booked a flight to Germany on an Italian airline with a layover in Rome to make it all more affordable, which somehow yielded some extraordinary perks. They played opera as we boarded, and served me pasta and red wine for free!

As I settled into the leather seats and savored my meal, I swiped through the copious entertainment selections on the screen in front of me. Because it was a long flight, I decided to binge through season 3 of Sex and the City.

I was 14 when the season first aired in 2000, and I watched it regularly, in part because it aired right before Six Feet Under, but also because as a gay kid, I craved a show that wasn’t told from a hetero-male gaze.

Revisiting the quintessentially New York show as a working actor in the city, I spotted (much younger versions of) at least three actors I’ve worked with Off-Broadway, in background, co-star, and recurring roles.
