An excerpt from the forthcoming book—“Leaps Across The Partition” edited by Zĕna Kōan ©2023 Anomalous Duo Press — a collection of people’s experiences of the departed communicating with their loved ones from the other side. The author of this piece chooses to remain anonymous.

It was one of those bathrooms where the lights are set on a timer.

I had gone in merely to find a private place to sit awhile. I closed the stall door and tried to find a comfortable position against one of the cubicle walls.

As my thoughts wandered, after a few minutes the allotted time for a human visit had passed, and suddenly the lights went out. Night.

I decided to relax and enjoy the dark.

It was still early, and I suspected it would still be a while before any other visitors would arrive for the viewing.

My mind churned away with thoughts of dear Martin and of this crazy carousel of mortality that all of us painted ponies are on.
It had been a very tough week for me. However much we think we are prepared for someone’s passing, the reality seems impossible, and every minute becomes powerfully overwhelming.
I was left in charge of his affairs and somehow had found the strength to bring it all together, including contacting his seemingly…
