As a queer person, have you ever wished to have a romantic relationship during high school? I bet you have, but I also bet you did not have the chance to, for a number of reasons. If this is you, then I highly suggest you watch the Netflix series Heartstopper.

Directed by Euros Lyn and featuring Kit Connor and Joe Locke, Heartstopper is based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novels of the same name. With the first season airing in April 2022 and the second one following in the summer of 2023, Heartstopper fans can now look forward to the third season coming out in October 2024.

After watching the first two season, being so captivated by this story, I decided to consume every possible Heartstopper content there is, so I also read the graphic novels and bought the illustrated books!

At its core, the story is about the relationship between the two protagonists: Charlie and Nick. Charlie is the first character we meet in the story, a gay kid who has recently been outed in school and has faced a lot of bullying and ostracization by his schoolmates. Nick, on the other hand, is the typical good-looking guy, who plays rugby and is generally one of the popular kids at school.
