OK, it wasn’t JK Rowling, but it was pretty close.

It was comedian and writer Graham Linehan who added me to his list of users to block. Linehan was famous for writing “Father Ted” and “The IT Crowd.” Now, he is famous for writing transphobic drivel on X (formerly Twitter) and his blog — as well as complaining about being cancelled for his views.

‘X’ Users Can Put Each Other on Lists, but Blocking People is More Difficult

I blocked Linehan over a year ago. His relentless transphobia doesn’t seem to end — even posting outrage at a trans woman friend of mine rightly being placed in a female hospital ward. She faced a dog pile of abuse as a result of Linehan and others. My block list on X is 4311 at the time of writing, yet I still come across plenty of bigots. Emboldened by Elon Musk’s laissez-faire attitude to hate, they have all crept out of the woodwork. Block one hater, and two take their place.

In the latest X update, you can no longer block users from comments or posts and now have to go to their profile page. The bigots of X are guilty of calling anyone a coward who blocks them — and now X is making this more difficult to do.
