My Gay Neighbor Once “Slept With” Maggie Thatcher

Yet another evocative and fulfilling Friday Night Happy Hour at Rainbow Vista, the all LGBTQ+ senior active-living apartment complex here in Gresham (East Portland), Oregon.
Of late, in an effort to draw the more introverted residents into active conversation, we’ve been starting our weekly confabs with a couple of ice-breaker questions.
This past Friday — Valentines’ Day, BTW — the ice-breakers pertained first to a famous person we’ve met and know personally, and then to one of the most intimate sexual encounters we’ve ever had.
The first question was touchy for me because I’m relatively new here. And, at times, I’ve had indications that some of the folks resent my frequent “name drops” of well-known personalities.
By explanation, I was in the music business for 45 years, as a recording artist and touring musician, songwriter, record producer, and music publisher. I also did film soundtrack work, which put me in direct, face-to-face communication with actors and directors.
The names I mention naturally in the course of talking about my life and career were my co-workers, collaborators, and peers…
