The LGBTQ Community Needs To Be Smart. We All Need to Vote.

Vote smart, not weird. We can win this!

Like many in the LGBTQ community, as well as those in this country who believe in freedom, liberty and the US Constitution, I held my breath until the day that President Biden withdrew from the 2024 Presidential race.

Thank God! I was running out of air.

For the first time in my life I started actively looking for another country I could live in. Ultimately, I decided that would be my Plan D. Also, for the first time I started to secretly hate neighbors and friends for their very vocal political beliefs.

I kept my political beliefs to myself.

Why?

Two reasons:

First, they were relying on the lies that Trump was spewing and stopped thinking for themselves. I refuse to debate with militant ignorance.

Second, as a transgender woman I am still in the closet… mostly anyway, and I need to stay that way for now (for personal reasons that make sense me, so don’t judge).

When Biden withdrew I started to breathe again.

Kamala Harris would not have been my first choice, but as I got to know her and got to compare her to the Trump alternative, she started to…
