There are moments in life when you realize you are having the perfect beer. For me, it follows the perfect day.

It doesn’t have to be a beer. Pick your own “perfect”.

Mine was after a day of being “me”.

OK, I’ll define the day.

I am a transgender female and for personal and professional reasons, I need to continue to present male. It’s like being who you are only part time. It is functional but it can be frustrating.

Not this week.

I am fortunate to have nine days of being just me. I took advantage of a Cyber Friday offer. I booked a one-week transatlantic cruise on the Queen Mary 2 from Southampton, England.

I flew to London two days early to make sure I didn’t miss the cruise. I was traveling on my own and I decided to go as me, the female me.

The day was warm and sunny. A unique day for London to start.

There are two formal nights on the cruise. I hired a style professional in London to help me find the “dress.” A luxury I needed. I needed my own “wingman.”

After decades of denial I finally answered the question “What’s wrong with me?” The answer is “Nothing”. I am transgender and I am OK.
