I Went Topless at a Pride Parade and Had the Time of My Life

Going to a Pride parade has always been one of my favorite experiences.

Everyone lives loudly, brightly, and so full of color that it makes you feel at home. Seeing the array of flags everywhere makes me feel safe and secure, as if nothing bad would happen in their presence.

You’re celebrating who you are with your family.

Seeing droves of people lining the streets being unabashedly themselves brings an endless smile to my face.

Being born and raised in New York, the NYC Pride Parade is high on my Pride events list.

I have gone to several over the past decade, but the particular year I am writing about was the cherry on top of freedom and liberation.

The year was 2015, and same-sex marriage was finally legalized in all 50 states.
