First, you can be sure that your maximum potential fan base will be limited in size, a mere fraction of a pop, hip-hop, or mainstream country audience.
Few radio formats feature alt-country — which fits less within the mainstream country genre and more under the catch-all Americana umbrella.
These factors combine to suggest that it’s highly unlikely you’ll be hanging gold or platinum plaques on your wall.
