What I Learned Bidding for the Taipei Gay Games

We were smeared with sweat and tears

Just a little over a year ago, a group of Taiwanese gay people took an ambitious action to bid for Taipei’s first-ever Gay Games. If you have not heard of the Gay Games, the easy way to understand them is as the rough equivalent of the Olympics, only for gays and for everyone who supports the LGBTQ community. Its core values are participation, inclusion, and personal best, which are embedded in its logo.
