What if Ariel from The Little Mermaid was transgender? This was a question recently pondered by my friend Stephenie Magister. What if that most iconic song, “Part Of My World” started thusly:

As a transgender woman and singer, I was acutely interested, as the future of my voice comes under scrutiny. Singing is a part of me, a heritage of performance I wish to continue as I transition.
