Roughly 18 months after the launch of GDPR, many companies are being confronted with new legislation, the CCPA.

From the creators of the GDPR Checklist, we are happy to introduce the CCPA Checklist. The GDPR Checklist has been used by more than 500,000 organizations globally in their efforts to get ready for GDPR.

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a California state law that enhances privacy rights and consumer protections for California residents. The CCPA regulates what businesses can do with the personal information they collect.

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) officially goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2020.

And even when the CCPA is not relevant for you today (you’d better check), it might make sense to spend a few minutes on it. There is a high probability that this legislation will be used as the base for a US-wide set of privacy laws. Here’s a nice CCPA page from a customer that doesn’t need to comply.

If you have never heard about the CCPA, you could use this checklist as an introduction to the legislation. For those of you that are preparing for the CCPA, you can use it as a guideline.
