I smell blood here and there.
Hushed wailing in the streets.
Wounded hearts… unheard sobs
hidden behind painted masks.

Each of us carry a gun.
Not in the hands but in the mouth
to hunt and kill at our will
anyone found displeasing to us.

The gun knows only to injure and kill
and take away precious lives.
Once it starts the shooting spree
tears or blood can't hold it back.

The tongue can be a deadly gun.
Think before you pull the trigger.
Use it only in wars against evil
and not at lives poor and simple.
