an idea

begging discovery

flashes and spills through

my imagination

quite like an overzealous expectant’s

urge to knit

to fuss and frown with

preposterous obsession

for a distant ideal fit

it rises and falls right back to

its doom like

an infantile popcorn

with a towering ambition

and insufficient fuel

bolder the beginning,

harder the pull,

wonderful serious thoughts

in an effervescent stream

gushing into my consciousness

then shamelessly disappearing

until just the abstract debauchery

remains

scattered all over like

a failed rescue of the placid

remains

of the unfinished endings

that were

but in vain
