PSA: school started this week!
If you know, you know. I don’t know if YOU know, so I’m here to inform you that school started this week. It’s easy to tell which of your employees, co-workers and bosses have kids in school: they’re the ones with tired eyes, messy bed hair and frazzled nerves, who arrived late at every meeting this week and will be absent minded all of next.
It doesn’t matter if it’s public or private school, the demands on parents’ time and attention are enormous and the complexity of the paperwork and the systems they use are labyrinthine. The amount of forms that need to be printed only to be rescanned and submitted digitally is out of this world. They might as well rename these two weeks Brazil 2: being a parent is expensive and exhausting, let’s also make it daunting.
So be patient, be graceful, and wait to drop any kind of big news until September. And please, don’t judge our breakfast. Irish lattes are our cozy space and our last coping mechanism.
