Daniel: Hello Everyone! We are glad to meet Bolon Soron, Community Director of DeFi Kingdom. Welcome!

Well let’s start with the brief intro of DeFi Kingdoms and questions. Also, if you’d like, you can show us the demo to the community.

Bolon: Hello, a pleasure to be here. We are DeFi Kingdoms(DFK), we are a cross-chain P2E game aiming for MMORPG with the 90s to 2000s style pixel art. Essentially, it is a project with a DeFi foundation but adding a P2E gaming element on top of it.

We have two different towns where you can play the game. First is Crystalvale which is live on DFK Chain, an Avalanche subnet, while Serendale can be found on the Klaytn blockchain. Let me show you the new features or new updates in English first, and then I’ll show you in Korean later.

You have all the different zones and parts of the game. If you don’t know where to go or what to do on the first screen, press the Quick Select over there, and you’ll see what you’re going to do depending on the space and the action.

There are different actions you can do in each space, but you may not know if you are not familiar with the game. At this time, I made a quick select menu and made it a guide.

So all the languages of the games are being translated into Korean.
The first thing I did was to find quickly, so I changed each action from English to Korean so that I could make a quick choice.

Daniel: Thanks for the great intro. Now we are going to move onto the questions.

We will start with the questions we prepared in advance, then we’ll take other questions later from the community.

The first question is, why did DeFi Kingdoms chose Klayton as one of the chain for the game and what is its future plans in Korea?

Bolon: Firstly, we believe that Klaytn’s blockchain is best suited for DApps that generate high volumes of transactions, such as gaming and DeFi, due to its network’s ability to handle such traffic.

Secondly, when choosing a blockchain, our decision was not solely based on technology, but also on the potential for long-term partnership and growth.

Regarding marketing in Korea, our primary focus was on translating specific game terms and gameplay into Korean. We are also preparing to expand our marketing efforts to other Asian countries, using Korea as our base. To achieve this, we are prioritizing translating the game into multiple relevant languages.

While our initial plan is to release the game as a standalone app, we are currently working on improving the authentication login function for mobile browsers. Once development is complete, we intend to connect to the app store and enable immediate login.

Daniel: Okay, so my next question is, I was curious about the partnerships and collaborations that Defi Kingdoms and PG DAO.

What is your opinion on the ways we could move forward?

Bolon: Our collaboration initially focused on marketing efforts for both sides, allowing us to increase exposure and reach new users in areas where we excel.

This mutually beneficial opportunity has enabled us to grow within the Klaytn ecosystem, alongside partners such as Pro Gamer DAO, KGG, and Kartel. We are committed to supporting and participating in groups, while also showcasing our ability to provide support to our partners.

Daniel: Right now what is the technical challenenges and solutions behind marketplce DEX for buying and selling assets?

Bolon: The assets in DFK are listed on Uniswap v2 and liquidity is being provided. We are also currently under development for Uniswap v3. Also, we’re preparing an order book-style auction-house DEX.

Daniel: Recently you guys moved from 6 skill system to 8 skill system including alchmy and chanting. What is the rationale behind the change?

Bolon: It sounds like it is from a question from a community member who knows the game very well.

It was not a ‘necessary change’ per se something we had an opportunity to do so. We realized that it would be much more fun to make it 8 skill system than only six 6 and change came naturally just because we were capable of making it. We are excited to give users more freedom and opportunities for crafting unique items.

Daniel: There is an entry barrier due to language when you start playing DFK for the first time. Is there a Korean-only guide available?

Bolon: There’s a Korean-only version of the guide. I’ll show you the media link later on this desk. All the translation suits are collected and are in medium.

Daniel: Koreans are not as familiar to pixel-style games. There are so many people who asked me why DeFi Kingdom is pixel-based.

Bolon: In fact, this was very much influenced by the team’s gaming experience growing up as Americans. A lot of early MMORPG and PRG games were pixel-based such as Final Fantasy and Runescape. We were greatly influenced by them so we decided to develop DFK using pixels.

Daniel: So for the next question.

What do you think Korean users are looking for?

What features they are seeking from the game you are developing?

Bolon: Actually, one of the major visions of DFK is to create a good game that contains competition like League of Legends.

Therefore, now in the main game, elements of competition, like those in League of Legends, are being reflected in DFK. We hope that DFK will evolve into a game that more users can enjoy not just as a game with decompiled elements but as a game that can be completed and enjoyed with others.

By doing so, we hope to capture the market of users who enjoy games that contain competitive elements, such as Korean users who enjoy competing, and create an environment that will attract more users.

Daniel: So, for the next question.

What exactly are you looking for from Korean users, what kind of features they want, and what is DFK currently developing?

Bolon: Actually, one of DFK’s big visions is to create a good game with competition, just like League of Legends. Therefore, we are reflecting those elements in DKF and hoping that more users will enjoy the game as a competitive one to play with others.

We hope to attract more users who like games with competitive elements and target the market where Korean people like to compete with each other. That’s why we’re looking forward to Korean users who are interested in that aspect.

Daniel: We covered the art and new system of the DFK. Now let’s to go back to a business question.

Since most Klaytn users are Koreans, is there anything you look forward to Korean gamers?

Also, how would DFK prepare their future in Korean market and what are you particularly expecting from Korean gamers?

Bolon: Our vision is to develop a competitive combat system that provides an in-depth and immersive experience. This is a crucial part of our goal, and we believe that the gaming market in Korea has enormous potential for such games.

If we can create a game that has widespread appeal, it could help bring the competitive aspect of gaming to the forefront of this market. Our objective is to deliver a great combat experience that keeps players engaged and challenged.

Daniel: I asked about dfk in detail earlier, but this time I want to ask a more general question.

Can you give some advice for people who are new to blockchain games or DeFi?

Bolon: First of all, read a lot. Read a lot of articles and insights. And then, before investing in a project, focus on safe investing.

Second, I would like people to pay more attention to security, such as keeping their wallets safe, before investing in a project. The more you read, the better decisions you can make about investments.

Daniel: Tell us about your memorable experience!

Can you tell me about any super-good or super-bad moments you’ve had in the blockchain or DeFi space as a DeFi Kingdom team?

Bolon: Super-bad is really easy because we got hit blow after blow last year. Harmony, which was the blockchain DFK was operating on, got hacked, and some of us were exposed to the LUNA crash and FTX crash. These events made a very rough few months last year there for sure.

Daniel: Got it , how about supergood moments so far?

Bolon: One specific moment was during the Decentral Miami event three months ago in December. The organizers gave DFK around 25 VIP tickets, which were immediately given out to the community. All 25 people attended, and the most memorable thing was that community members flew for six hours just to attend the event. It was a very meaningful and special memory that has stayed with me. Six people came from the furthest southern corner of the west coast.

Daniel: I can feel you. If I am building a project and someone came to the event taking 6 hour flight, it’d feel unforgetable for me too.

Let’s go back to the technical game side. What roles do you think gamers hold in shaping the future of DeFi Kingdoms?

Now that they have a competitive feature, what are they gonna play?

Bolon: We see ourselves as caretakers of the game, so we take responsibility for the initial development. Having an 80,000-person committee for development wouldn’t be productive.

However, we always seek feedback from players and incorporate it into the game. We modify features based on player feedback. As for upcoming combat, each week we reveal the skill tree for a new class and gather feedback on them before they are even playable.

I believe it’s the team’s role to develop the games and mechanisms that users desire. We are always open to getting feedback from Korean gamers so we can take that into an account when we make new changes and developments.

Daniel: Ok thats cool. as you talked about new features and user feed back, what are upcoming features or updates players can look forward to?

Bolon: Yes, we’re also working on adding more NFTs to the game. We’ve had a great response from the community about the current NFTs that are available, so we’re planning to expand the collection with new and unique designs.

We’re also exploring the possibility of adding new game modes and quests to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging for our players.

And lastly, we’re working on improving the user interface and user experience of the game to make it more intuitive and user-friendly.

Daniel: To end the official questions, can you summarize DFK in one sentence?

Take your time it is a difficult question.

Bolon: One sentence hmm... MMORPG meets DeFi with a real-value economy!

Daniel: Thank you. We’ve covered most of the questions, so we would like to close the official questioning.

If there are additional questions, please raise your hand and I will invite Bolon to answer them.

Bolon: Awesome

Community Member1: Hello, I would like to ask you about the marketing plans, ambassador program or bounty program.

Could you share if there is such thing exist in the game now that we could actually participate?

Bolon: Great question. we have different marketing plans something along the bounty program we have talked about. but don’t have any details yet to share. but if we do we will let the community know beforehand.

A big part of our marketing is the game itself actually the playing experience. being able to attract not necessarily crypto users but trad gamers as well and making sure that gamers can be easily onboard into the ecosystem even though they are not familiar with crypto.

Community Member1: Great. Thank you very much!

Bolon: While we give a moment to wait for everyone to raise their hand, I just wanted to mention that the most meaningful and appreciated thing for me during the past year and a half was the positive and enjoyable atmosphere of the community, where everyone was welcoming to anyone and helped each other, which is uncommon in gaming and crypto communities.

In fact, it wasn’t easy to maintain this atmosphere, but even as a gaming or crypto community, being positive and welcoming to each other and encouraging each other was so great. So, to keep the community going in the future, we’ll have to work hard day and night, and for Koreans, there’s a separate Korean channel, so please feel free to come and ask questions and have a better experience.

Community Member2:In games, achieving individual game completion is important, but I think it’s also important to play games cooperatively with team or others.

Can you provide any plans or guidance on cooperative content, such as team features or team tag tournaments?

Bolon: There’s currently none, but we’re planning it in the future. So, as some of you may know, for example, in World of Warcraft, team raids and games with similar mechanics are also being planned with similar mechanics.

Daniel: My personal question, what is your current Gov structure in DFK?

Bolon: We recently changed our governance structure, and now we’re adopting the Curve’s v2 model, where if you stake your tokens for a long period of time, you’ll get more voting power, and accordingly, you’ll get more shares. We’re currently implementing this.

Daniel: Thanks! Let’s wrap up here everyone got their questions answered. So excited to see whats upcoming for it.

I like pixel art, I liked the new pvp mode. Hope all new dev is as smooth as possible.

Bolon: Absolutely. Really appreciate your doing this with us. It was a great chance to speak to everybody. Welcome to ask any question we are always here.
