The King of Fighters(hereafter ‘KOF’) ARENA’s pre-registration began on September 28. Let’s take a look at KOF ARENA, which has been loved by many fans since 1994.

Part.0 KOF ARENA Intro
KOF ARENA is a mobile game developed by Netmarble in the form of battle fighting (Netmarble will provide a client to enable PC Play in the future). Netmarble has already been loved by many players by launching a mobile game called KOF ALLSTAR on Web2 using KOF IP (download more than 10 million in Google Play). In order to continue the success of the game in the blockchain field, Netmarble has combined their blockchain project MARBLEX with KOF ARENA. Players can have right of NFT and Token, which they can trade with other players. Players can also get new NFTs or Tokens with Gameplay.
Part.1 — Gameplay (Game Modes)
The game modes supported by KOF ARENA are as follows.
- 1 vs 1 single match
- 3 vs 3 team match

Let’s take a quick look at each game mode.
1 vs 1 Single Match
Match Process
2 players each choose 3 fighters and play 1 vs 1 duel. A total of three rounds will be played, and the winner of the second round will be the winner. Players will participate in the duel by deciding the order of the fighters themselves.
3 vs 3 Team Match
Match Process
3 players from each team will play 3 vs 3 duel with the fighter of their choice (the same fighter can be selected). Each player will participate in a duel (1 vs 1 duel) in a given order before the start of the match, and the team that knocks down all the fighters on the other team will win.
Season
KOF ARENA is seasonal. In addition, there is a league system for each Game Mode, and players match other players with league scores similar to their own.
End of Season
At the end of the Season, rewards will be given according to the Tier and Grade of each player. The Tier and Grade of the previous season will be the starting point for the next Season
Pre-Season
Before the start of next Season, a Pre-season will begin. Pre-season Tiers and Grade do not affect the regular Season. After the Pre-season ends and the beginning of the regular Season, the rewards of the Pre-season are paid.
Part.2 — NFTs
There are two NFTs in KOF ARENA.

Controller NFT
Controller NFT is an item that can participate in the P&E (Play and Earn) gameplay of KOF ARENA. Players who own Controller NFT can earn FM (Fight Money) and Mystery Box (Mystery Box) if they play KOF ARENA. Let’s take a look at the characteristics of Controller NFT.

The attributes are determined by Level and Grade of the controller.
Mystery box
Players who own the Controller NFT can obtain Mystery Boxes with a certain probability through Gameplay, and players can own up to four Mystery Boxes. Click the Mystery Box to begin opening. After a certain period of time after opening, player will obtain a new Controller NFT or Gem.
(Player can choose to pay in Black Diamonds to immediately open Mystery Boxes without having to wait.)
Minting
Mint a new Controller Box using two (over) Lv.5 Controller NFTs. The features related to minting are as follows.
- Each Controller has a Minting limit and Controllers with no more Minting left cannot be used as materials for Minting
- At a certain probability, player may be able to obtain 2 Controller Boxes from Minting (Twin Minting)
- Depending on the number of Mints, Twin Minting probability will increase
- The generated Controller Box’s Grade will be determined by the specs of the Controllers used for MintingGems & Sockets
Controller NFT can use up to 4 Sockets. A Socket open every 5 level up of Controller NFT. The ability of the controller NFT can be improved by inserting the Gem in the Socket. Gem can have only one of 4 attributes, and Gem with the same color and same level can be combined. If successful, you will get a higher-grade Gem, and if unsuccessful, the used Gem will be destroyed. Other payments will be added to the combining. (Gem can be obtained by opening the Mystery Box.)
Energy
The Grade and quantity of controller NFTs determine the maximum energy available to the Player for a day, and FM and Mystery Box cannot be acquired while there is no energy. One energy is consumed per match, and 25% of the maximum energy is recovered every 6 hours.

Fixing
Controller NFT reduces durability and determines reward acquisition efficiency. The durability can be repaired using FM.
Level-Up
Player can increase properties as the level of the controller NFT increases. Level up requires a certain amount of time and FM. With Black Diamonds, player can apply the level-up immediately.
Fighter Card NFT
64 Fighter Card NFTs are issued for each Fighter, which can be purchased through INO (Initial NFT Offering) or through the NFT Marketplace.
Fighter Card NFT Holder
Fighter Card NFT holders can benefit a lot without having to play KOF ARENA directly. The benefits disclosed to date are as follows:

- Earn $FCT

Fighter Card Holder receive a portion of the revenue (FM) generated from that Fighter in $FCT. All transactions of rewards will be only available through the KOF ARENA Official Website, and only players who have locked up the Fighter Card NFT can receive the rewards. The ratio of reward distribution according to the Grade of the Fighter Card is as follows.
Part.3 — $FCT (Fighters’ Club Token)
$FCT is KOF ARENA’s utility token and can be used on the MARBLEX platform. If the player who has the controller NFT wins the game, he gets FM, and the player can exchange FM for $FCT.

Part.4 — Opinion
Due to the popularity of KOF IP itself, many players are expected to play KOF ARENA from the beginning. In Tekken, a game of the same genre as KOF, an E-Sports competition is being held, and KOF ARENA is also likely to develop into E-Sports in the future.
KOF ARENA’s Controller NFT is similar in terms of properties and utilities to STEPN’s Shoes NFT. But unlike STEPN, where anyone who owns only the shoe NFT gets a reward, KOF ARENA has a competitive structure. Players with Controller NFTs will receive rewards if they win a match, but wont receive rewards if they lose. This allows you to expect the same effect that the NFT is disabled.
