India’s most popular reality show Bigg Boss has taken the OTT screens on fire as well. The second season of Bigg Boss OTT premiered on 17 June 2023 on Jio Cinema
The show is being hosted by Salman Khan. The episode airs every day at 9 PM and also has a 24/7 live channel for the viewers to see what is happening. The show’s finale is on the 14 August after getting an extension of 2 weeks. The show was originally scheduled to run for 4 weeks.
Like every other Bigg Boss season, this season has not disappointed its views as well, a lot of controversies have made it to the headlines. The show started with 13 contestants and has 6 housemates currently. There were 2 wildcard entries as well
Contestants of Bigg Boss OTT season 2:
Abhishek Malhan: Abhishek Malhan, widely recognized by his YouTube alias Fukra Insaan, gained immense popularity as the audience’s favourite contestant on Bigg Boss, securing the top position. Originally from Pitampura, Delhi, Malhan has established himself as a prominent figure in the world of social media gaming and YouTube, boasting a continually expanding fan following of 7.44 million subscribers on his channel. He is one of the first contestants to reach the finale.
Puneet Kumar: Puneet Superstar, renowned for his online persona, brought an intriguing element to the roster of contestants on Bigg Boss OTT 2. However, his journey was remarkably short-lived as he faced eviction within a mere 24-hour period of entering the house, owing to his problematic conduct. Despite receiving multiple admonitions from Bigg Boss, the influencer persisted in his behaviour without making amends, ultimately leading the show’s producers and fellow contestants to expel him from the house. He was the first contestant to get eliminated from the house.
Palak Purswani: Well-known in the television realm, Palak has made notable appearances on reality programs such as Splitsvilla and Nach Baliye, as well as various TV serials including Badii Devrani, Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania, Nastik, Meri Hanikarak Biwi, and Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. She was eliminated from the show during the first eviction on the weekends.
Avinash Sachdev: Avinash Sachdev, widely recognized for his portrayals in notable series like “Chotti Bahu” and “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? Ek Baar Phir,” has established himself as a prominent figure in the realm of television acting. He got eliminated from the show last week with another contestant during a double eviction.
Manisha Rani: Professionally trained as a dancer, Manisha Rani catapulted to prominence when her content gained viral traction on the widely-used social media platform TikTok. Building on this success, she ventured into the world of reality television by taking part in the dance competition “Dance India Dance.” Her talents also brought her to the spotlight on the renowned comedy show “The Kapil Sharma Show.” Hailing from a village nestled within Bihar’s Munger district, she embarked on a journey of pursuing a career in the entertainment sector, a path that led her to leave her home behind. She has 6.5 million followers on Instagram and is nominated for eviction this week.
Manisha Rani to win the BB OTT season 2?
Jiya Shankar: Continuing the lineup of Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestants is Jiya Shankar. She has consistently impressed audiences with her performances in television serials such as “Meri Hanikarak Biwi,” where she portrayed the character of Dr Iravati Pandey, and “Kaatelal & Sons,” where she took on the role of Susheela Ruhail Solanki, among others. More recently, she shared the screen with Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza in the Marathi film “Ved,” a project for which she garnered significant acclaim and recognition.
Jad Hadid: Jad Hadid, a Lebanese model, actor, and television personality, has emerged as the focal point of discussions and conversations throughout this season. He was evicted from the Bigg Boss house last week.
Falak Naaz: A highly renowned TV actress, Falaq Naaz has earned her fame primarily through her notable role in the television serial “Sasural Simar Ka.” She shares familial ties with fellow actors Shafaq Naaz and Sheezan Khan, who are her siblings. She has also been evicted from the house.
Pooja Bhatt: A director, actress, and the eldest daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt emerged as a prominent figure in the 90s, achieving stardom through blockbuster films like “Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin” and “Sadak.” In 2021, she marked her debut in the world of OTT with the women-centric series “Bombay Begums,” earning praise for her compelling portrayal of Rani Irani. Cyrus Broacha: Cyrus Broacha is a multifaceted Indian personality, encompassing roles as an anchor, theatre figure, comedian, political satirist, columnist, podcaster, and author. He gained prominence through his show “Bakra” on MTV India and “The Week That Wasn’t” on CNN-News18. He was criticised by viewers for not being active inside the house.
Bebika Dhurve: Bebika is a Dentist, TV Actress and astrologist. She has also acted in a serial named ‘Bhagya Lakshmi’. She was one of the finalists.
Aaliya Siddiqui: Aaliya Siddiqui is the ex-wife of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and participated in the Bigg Boss OTT season 2. She got evicted from the show during the early weeks.
Akanksha Puri: Akanksha Puri is an accomplished Indian actress and model, recognized for her contributions to Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films, as well as a handful of television shows. Her portrayal of Goddess Parvati in “Vighnaharta Ganesh” stands as one of her most notable roles.
Aashika Bhatia: An actress renowned for her roles in Hindi serials like “Meera” and “Parvarrish — Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi,” she has also made a mark as a prominent social media influencer. Elvish Yadav: Elvish Yadav was a wildcard entry in the Bigg Boss house. He has 12.3 Million followers on YouTube. He is nominated for eviction this week.
As the show is nearing its finale, social media has been seen supporting the new generation of YouTubers like Elvish and Abhishek. The winner will take home a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 25 Lakhs upon winning the show.
