Looking for some goddamn peace and quiet.

Protagonist — The man with the heavy mind.

He drives out of the city on Saturday morning. It’s a rainy day. As he reaches the suburbs, the voices of the city cars that haunted him go away. But he has not been to this area before. And his GPS is not working. Wherever he is, it look’s like the street right after a hurricane has passed.

His body carries his weary mind. There are road signs that help him along the way. He finds a sanctuary at the end of the road. A garden in the middle of nowhere. And a lake beside it. He sits in the wooden shelter where a quote from the Psalms reads — “Be still and know I am God.”

Maybe that is why God was silent all along.

This is an odd story, you might think. My protagonist does not exist in time or space really. Man with the heavy mind is actually a metaphor for you and me. He is our mind at the end of the week. Or at the end of the life. His story does take place at a certain times, at a certain places. It culminates a lifetime of searching for peace.
