The Process Pragmatist

Theoretically informed.
Practically useful.

Process Pragmatist is dedicated to increasing quality and productivity through practical process management.

proc·ess

  1. a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
  2. a set of interrelated or interacting activities that transforms inputs into outputs (ISO 9000:2000)

prag·ma·tism

  1. a practical approach to problems and affairs
  2. an American movement in philosophy founded by C.S. Peirce and William James and marked by the doctrines that the meaning of conceptions is to be sought in their practical bearings, that the function of thought is to guide action, and that truth is preeminently to be tested by the practical consequences of belief
    (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

The Process Pragmatist explores practical questions in organizational efficiency and personal productivity through the theoretical lenses of systems theory, management science, and, on occasion, (pragmatic) philosophy.

Sound deadly boring? Don’t worry, I don’t take myself that seriously. My insights are only theoretically (not actually) informed and my tips are only practically (almost, but not quite) useful.

A Process Pragmatist

Keith Gillette is an outcome-driven, process-oriented leader passionate about efficiency, effectiveness, education, environment, & economy. (He also possesses an alarming affection for alliteration.) Keith holds a Master of Science in Information & Telecommunications Systems Management, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as numerous IT industry certifications, not to mention his B.S. (what else?) in philosophy. Keith is a senior member of the American Society for Quality and brings Six Sigma certification and a quality systems/process management orientation to his work in strategic planning, systems design, project coordination, and operations management. He also brings a third-person voice to writing about himself.
