I invited some company to join in for today’s creative project. They were more than happy to help daddy paint.

We had our colors and brushes all laid out, paper towel mats down and cups of clean water ready. Baylee asks, “What are we going to paint Daddy?”

“Paint whatever you’re thankful to God for, whatever makes you really happy or something pretty. Just have fun.”

And so we did…

They loved every minute of painting as many pictures as they could. At one point I told them to be careful with the water and paint because they were getting it on the table. Baylee responds, “Daddy, that’s just what happens when we’re artists working on masterpieces.”

What do you say to that?

When we were wrapping up the last few pics Baylee asks, “Daddy, do you think I’m an artist?”

“Absolutely girl. You both have made some true masterpieces.”

Two huge smiles at the table.

Sometimes you get a little messy making a masterpiece.
And sometimes the moment itself is the masterpiece.
