Reminder of grace

Sometimes we get reminders of the grace of God in deep and profound ways from the most simple and unexpected moments. They are such profound reminders of the depth of His profound grace that it feels like the angle of our point of view widens. As our peripheral kicks back in, after squinting habitually, we get to see what’s been there all along: saying He loves us isn’t cliché; it’s OK that redemption takes a while for some; we can both be OK and angry that we don’t understand; He loves the messy and broken people; I’m messy and broken too.

Reading papers from some of my students and dinner with an old friend are what reminded me of these things. It happened two weeks ago and I’m still ruminating on it all.

Reminders that it truly is all about grace.
Reminders that sometimes the journey to figure that out takes awhile.
Reminders that no one is exempt from needing such reminders.
Reminders to not miss the whole story because of one or two rough chapters.
Reminders that God is good, is love, is holy.

Reminders of Peace

Reminders of Grace.
