What Audrey Hepburn said about Paris, the same should all business ventures say about London. London is always a good idea.

Blockchain Summit London 2018 was a 2-day conference and exhibition connecting over 2,500 industry leaders, business decision makers, innovators, and investors, and we had a good fortune to also have the best sunny weather London has seen this year!

Organization was almost flawless and they managed to deliver some really insightful industry-leading keynote speakers from companies like Accenture Technology, IBM, Allianz SE, Issue Media Group, The Bitfury Group, Cisco DevNet, Maersk, Oracle Service Cloud, Pfizer, SAP, Deep Analysis and others… as well as having BBC’s MONTY MUNFORD as a moderator for a panel discussion — check him out if you haven’t.

What can be learned from such an event is understanding on how different industries are trying to tackle blockchain from either business model point of view, technological or from legal and regulatory and just how many companies are attending blockchain events in the search of new insights.

We meet and conversed with a lot of people from various industries, but perhaps most insightful was a conversation with a prospective Procurean user — a procurement manager from Airbus.

While some of the facts and figures about their worldwide procurement do sound interesting (they have 12,000 suppliers worldwide, sourcing volume of almost €50 billion and a long-term objective to source globally), the best take away way was his realization that there are a lot of quick cost savings they could make yearly with Procurean by seeking the best price and suppliers for example just safety or workers equipment.

While blockchain events may bring together people interested in the technology, we are still more impressed by how it is being used and what challenges businesses or users have that they are being solved with it. In this regard, we are proud to say, Procurean is one step ahead of other projects.
