Procurement in Perspective… #2
Procurement cannot die!
“Rien ne se perd, rien ne se crée, tout se transforme.”
“Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.”
— Antoine Lavoisier, a French nobleman and chemist central to the 18th-century chemical revolution
The quote above is totally applicable to Procurement as a function.
Think about it… You can, theoretically, outsource any function. Sales, Marketing, even production!
But you cannot totally outsource Procurement!
Because, whenever you outsource, you have a provider to manage!
Someone has to manage the relationship.
Even if it is not officially called a Procurement organisation; this is still Procurement!
