Community Days at Procurify: Here’s What You Need to Know

One of the great things about working at Procurify is the opportunity to give back to the wider community. Through initiatives like community days, social impact events, and our Donate Your Day program, we’re able to make a positive difference in the world that extends beyond our core product offering.

Here’s a little bit about community initiatives at Procurify.

What are community days?

Community days happen on the last Friday of each month. On these days, every team member at Procurify, regardless of where they’re located, is encouraged to go out and volunteer in their community, either as a group or individually. (Of course, team members can take time away from work and volunteer any day they wish, too.)

On these community days, we typically participate in hands-on initiatives, including handing out warm clothes to those in need in Vancouver’s downtown east side, offering food and drink supplies via our friends at Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen, or lending a hand at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

Internally, teams are encouraged to share their experiences volunteering in their communities. For example, many team members have spent time grocery shopping for seniors, volunteering at North Shore Hospice, volunteering at Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre, participating in speed mentoring for Access Employment, or advocating for Protect Our Winters Canada.

Across the years, Procurify has worked with many different charities and advocated for a variety of causes close to our collective heart. Last quarter, for example, we donated to the United for BC Flood Response fund in light of the natural disasters that hit British Columbia in 2021.

The Donate Your Day program

While Procurify encourages everyone to get out and actively volunteer in their communities, we know it’s not always possible. To counter this, we have a Donate Your Day program.

Quite simply, team members have the opportunity to donate a portion of their salary to the collective cause we sponsor each quarter, which is determined by our Social Impact Committee. This is completely optional and team members can donate as much or as little as they want.

We also hold a quarterly Social Impact Event, either virtual or in-person, where all proceeds go towards the nonprofit we are supporting that quarter. Some of the past Social Impact Events we’ve held include escape rooms, auctions, trivia, and more. These events are a great way for the team to socialize together and support a great cause at the same time!

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our team, Procurify has raised thousands of dollars for various causes through the Donate Your Day program.

Putting time and money into the initiatives that count

At Procurify, compassion sits at the forefront of our core values. Community days, social impact events, and our Donate Your Day program are just a few ways of showing this value to our community and the world around us.

Since Procurify started the Donate Your Day program in 2019 and our community days initiative in 2021, we’ve managed to donate thousands of dollars to various charities and nonprofit organizations across Canada. In 2021, we donated nearly $35,000, and we’re on track to surpass that in 2022.

A few organizations we have supported include:

We believe that as an organization, and as a team, we have the responsibility to give back to our community, support those around us, and ultimately do something good for the world.
