Contact Lens Cases

If the cases I’ve seen scattered around Carnegie Mellon’s University Center (and lots of posts on the internet) are any indication, people tend to lose/forget their contact lens cases a lot.

A standard contact lens case

I think part of the problem is the design, and resultant user experience, of the case. The attached double-circle is small enough that’s it’s easy to forget about, and large enough that it can’t be comfortably kept in a wallet or left in a pocket. There isn’t an easy way to attach it to keys or a phone, and it’s small/nondescript enough to be forgotten somewhere. Here are some quick ideas I had about possible solutions:

Four quick ideas of lens storage options

While this is by no means a comprehensive list of the best solutions, I think this is a problem that could be remedied (or at least mitigated) with some design thinking.
