Happy 2023!

Last year has not been easy for a lot of people. Redundancy and lay-offs in tech have added to stress and everyone wants a better 2023. Here I am looking for ways to improve my profile in 2023 adding to skills, adding to work experience I deem valuable, adding to life experiences I would look back to savor, and the list goes on

Today I want to share a tip on getting a step closer to a great interview impression.

When you prepare your personal story you probably are already following a STAR / SAR format. Look it up Situation-Action-Result. What you want when tailoring to the job is

• pick out top 3 or to 5 objectives form the job description
• make a table on your notepad, drop them in
• map your achievements from your own story to these objectives, if you don’t have it, write it out
• you create clarity for yourself for narration when you write out your achievements in relation to the job description
• use this story in the narrative so the interviewer can get a better impression of visualizing you in the role
