Just give an overview of about anchor.fm mobile app

How did you discover this app?

  • Was just reading through tweets. Recommended by a fellow Product person Dan Storm at Originate.

What makes this app so different?

  • So the on-boarding process is pretty cool, tell us about that and what you like about it?

What do you like and don’t like about anchor.fm? (pros and cons)

Pro:

  • They created a very smart distribution alert system. After a replier post or reply a wave to the Original Poster, Anchor will auto tweet to both person’s Twitter profile with the caption of the conversation and hashtag. The hashtag systems extends over to Twitter and can be found. Additionally, the audio wave are embedded natively into the Twitter tweet so you don’t have to navigate away to listen.

Con:

  • When I am out and about, and I get a wave message. It’s difficult to listen to it without headphones. Maybe I should able to listen to it like a phone call instead of being on speaker when it plays.

What kind of opportunities do you see with a platform like anchor?

  • There is opportunity to be an open dialog podcast. Host 1 and Host 2 can go back and forth. It also allows us to pause and think about it before speaking. For comments, anyone can join in and extend the podcast. Podcast topic can be resurrected and continue to be a talking point that continues on.
  • David and I will try that in a future episode of ProductHackers.

What features would you like to see for the future of this product?

  • I think the product is near perfect right now, any more features might be too much. This product is more build by the community than the focus on tech.
