Love spreads. So do good ideas. And new practices. All like an infectious disease, spreading across social networks, pooling in knowledge stores, growing in fertile media, infecting their hosts.

Institutional antibodies helpfully slow innovation’s contagion. They inhibit with bureaucratic resistance, distraction, and resource starvation. Not all organizations, occupations, and industries are equally receptive or resistant, so innovation is not evenly distributed.
