Welcome to Shared Narrative #13 and welcome to the first week of 2019!

Did you know that the month of January was named after a Roman God, Janus? Janus is the Roman god of doors, doorways, arches, openings, closings, and the like. He is known for having two faces: one looking backward, one forward.

January was named after Janus for his ability to turn one face to reflect upon the past and a yet another face freshly pointed upon the future. What an apt month name! January marks a new year for most of us. A new beginning imbued with the knowledge and wisdom we have learned from the years before. As Maya Angelou said: “You can’t really know where you are going until you know where you have been.”

We took a few moments looking back at 2018. It gave us an opportunity to celebrate our effort and be thankful for our accomplishments. This reflection serves as fuel for us to keep going. The journey perhaps has just begun.

We also look forward to what 2019 has in store for us.

Thank You 2018

We want to use this opportunity to share what Q4 2018 means for Product Narrative. And, more importantly, to thank you for being part of it. Many of you provided invaluable feedback through our conversations (online and offline) that really shaped our focus and set the course for us.

  • At the end of 2018, we had published 12 newsletters. One newsletter per week and we never skipped a beat in delivering it on-time — even after 11,000 words later.
  • We’ve filled out our newsletter sponsorships up to Q1 2019. Would love to have you to be our next sponsors too!

Hello 2019

  • We are very excited to announce we will do some major work in 2019 with a company we have been admiring for a long time. This company has shaped the digital ecosystem in Indonesia for the better. We’ll share more updates on this (and our learning points) in the future newsletter.
  • We are invited to do a podcast about goal-setting by Inspigo, our great friends who pack inspirations into ready-to-go mobile format. Really looking forward.

Wishing you a very happy new year and all the best in 2019!

PS: Starting Q1 2019, we will send our newsletter once every other week to balance it out with several new engagements our team has subscribed to.
