8 September 2022 — Post Meetup retrospective

In the Drexler/Sibbet Team Performance Model, retrospective is a crucial activity that allows teams to reflect on their work once it has been completed. The final stage of the model, known as renewal, is when team members can wrap up their work and move on to their next challenges.

During this meetup, the cactus teams reflected on their experiences at group meetups, as well as the meaning and lessons learned from these events. Participants also take the time to reconnect as cohorts and set up for the next stage of the program.

Activity: How well have you connected with each other?

Trust and relationship are key part of PTL journey — This activity is intended to develop awareness on progress the cohort have made in building connections, and to encourage building these relationships

Connection between PTL participants and mentors

Sharing: Cactus Owner and RSVP Concept about Leadership

After experiencing the journey as a cactus team, the cohort revisited relationships and leadership effectiveness outlined in the RSVP model with following reminder:

  • Effective leadership requires to touch all mastery areas: relationship, vision, strategy and performance.
  • When we are doing leadership roles, a lot of the work that we do is about forging and sustaining healthy relationships between people.
  • When the network is healthy, a lot of things can move quickly. More effort needs to be made to reach out to people, especially in online world

Activity: Product Person Canvas Review

Participants are then invited to review their Product Person Canvas through following prompts:

  • What has changed for you?
  • What have you accomplished? What is still in progress and what do you want to work on?
  • Who have you really connected with and who do you want to connect with?

Sharing: Recap Team Performance Model

As part of retrospective preparation, participants assessed different stages of Drexler/Sibbet “Team Performance Model” and where the cohort currently stand:

  • Retreat helps kickstart with Orientation “Why am I here” and Trust building of “Who are you”
  • Meetup #1 helps on Goal clarification “What are we doing”
  • Briefing of cactus team helps clarify how are we doing it and establish commitment
  • Meetup preparation and actual presentation forms Implementation and High Performance
  • This meetup is designed to help wrap up and establish what’s more there to learn

Activity: Retrospective using Timeline Journey

As team, participants are invited to map the variety of emotions felt and examine their journey with following questions:

  • What patterns do you see?
  • What lows and highs do you see?
  • What do you think happened there? How was that?
  • What else do you think is important to acknowledge today?
Our Meetup #4 Emotional Journey

Checkout: What do you appreciate about this conversation together?

  • Deep reflection and closure
  • Good conversation to wrap up our journey and feelings together as meetup team
  • Everyone is comfortable with each other now and can be honest
  • Cactus group went thru something together and made the bond stronger
  • Reflecting after the fact is easier because you’re much more removed from ‘being in the trenches’ prepping for the meet-up
  • There are thoughts that we could probably have shared much earlier and check on each other to provide support!
