Audrey Hepburn is without question one of Hollywood’s greatest style icons. A talented performer known for her beauty, elegance and grace, she was born on May 4, 1929, in Brussels, Belgium. Hepburn spent part of her youth in England at a boarding school.

During much of World War II, she studied at the Arnhem Conservatory in The Netherlands which was later invaded by the Nazis. She and her mother struggled to survive and according to an article in The New York Times, Hepburn reportedly helped the resistance movement by delivering messages. She continued to pursue dance after the war and did small parts on the British stage.

We’re familiar with the glamorous Breakfast at Tiffany’s Hollywood star but Vintage Everyday has published a set of photos from the actresses’ past that show her as a child, teenager and a young adult before she became famous. Not surprising to see that she was just as charming and graceful then as she was after becoming a star.
