Your five product management snacks #2

Hey there 👋

1️⃣ How To Become a Peak Product Manager
Ravi Mehta mapped the product manager main skills in 4 categories: customer insight, product strategy, influencing people & product execution. I agree so much with his work that I based comet career path on it. Highly recommended to assess yourself or your team #skills #strategy #execution

2️⃣ Failed #SquadGoals
Must read — if you haven’t yet. It’s a harsh & deserved critic of the Spotify agile model. I experienced it first hand at ManoMano (15 squads). You shouldn’t aim to create team autonomy but to have an impact. Autonomy/empowerment being a lever if your team is mature enough. Collaboration inside & between squads is a skill that you need to develop, don’t assume it’s already here #teamorg #agile

3️⃣ The Mindset, Process and Tools of a Product Manager
Following up the article on Spotify model, here is a good reminder of the different items you can use to learn our craft. Generally, look for the mindsets more than specific ideas. Whenever you need a solution for a specific problem, seek a new tool or process #teach #learn #mindset

4️⃣ How to build a customer centric culture in B2B
Still very actual & actionable advices on how to stay close to your customers in B2B by Mathilde Colin (Front). I especially love how they translate findings in rituals (all hands meetings customer spotlights). You need to embody this kind of work to make it part of the company culture #userresearch

5️⃣ Using video for design feedback
I’m a huge fan of asynchronous communication, especially loom, that let you share videos very easily combining your screen & face. I’ve been using it a lot to remotely present ideas, share dense feedbacks, etc. Use it wisely: should be short and specific (work is on the receiver side) #async #communication
