Artificial Intelligence, AI for short, is the “new hotness.” But how prevalent is it today? I decided to answer this question with statistics.
- Python is the most commonly used programming language for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning. (Github, Dec 2016)
- By 2020, 85% of customer interactions will be managed without a human. (Gartner, 2011)
- 32% of executives say voice recognition is the most-widely used AI technology in their business. (Narrative Science)
- By 2018, six billion connected devices will proactively ask for support. (Gartner, 2015)
- 44% of executives believe artificial intelligence’s most important benefit is “automated communications that provide data that can be used to make decisions.” (Narrative Science)
- By the end of 2018, “customer digital assistants” will recognize customers by face and voice across channels and partners. (Gartner, 2015)
- 80% of executives believe artificial intelligence improves worker performance and creates jobs. (Narrative Science)

- There are more than “1,513 Artificial Intelligence companies in 13 categories across 73 countries, with a total of $9.5B in funding” (Venture Scanner, 2016)
