Tech-activism working groups are starting to pop up, where’s yours?

In MIT, Al and his awesome team at Engineering Activism has been doing regular Project Parties to work on activism tech.

In San Diego, CA, Oren has setup his awesome meetup group to center on progressive issues.

Yesterday, ProgHacknight in New York had their fifth installment with Eve Ahearn as the speaker, lots of new work groups starting to work towards a more progressive society.

And across the Atlantic, Ed has been regularly hosting amazing tech meetings at the Newspeak house. If you’re in the area, check that one out!

There’s a growing number of tech-activism working groups, why not start one in your neck of the woods?

#universal-healthcare

We now have folks working on the Video Upload, Health Care Calculator, and Speaker Calendar. Huzzah!

We are still looking for folks who can spend at least two hours a week to help out with their NationBuilder and CiviCRM platforms. We need folks to do peer-to-peer petitioning system as well. Join #universal-healthcare channel if interested!

Lawyers for Good Government

Huge huge props to the awesome work that Jacob has done with Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG). Jacob, our Strategic Partnerships coordinator, has worked tirelessly with this massive group and assisted with building a sustainable tech structure to their organization, so that they can assist grassroots causes. L4GG currently is monitoring events such as the firing of former-FBI Director Comey, in the wake of his investigation of the Executive Branch.

Check out the #l4gg channel for more updates!
