Learning about quantum computing really makes me think about the universe itself. It makes me think about life.

A Thought Experiment

I imagine that if we can have a super powerful and stable quantum computer, we can find answer to any questions about the universe.

For example if we wanted to know if a planet can exists which support life other than the earth, we just have to simulate the the universe itself starting from the big bang up.

You could argue that the simulation will probably take a long time, probably as long as the universe itself. Which is true. But with a quantum computer unique ability to be in superposition, every calculation will happen at once. The simulation can be said to happen in quantum time.

The second right after the simulation start and the second just before the simulation ends happens at the same time to me, the observer.

Can we know for sure that god exist?

As someone with some religious background, I believe that God exist. The existence of God may be illogical to some people. But the act of believing God exist is highly logical to me.

As someone with some scientific interest, I know that I need to be skeptical. But thankfully, scientifically skeptical can be two side of the same coin. While I can choose to suspect the existence of God, I can also choose to suspect the in-existence of God. Science is flexible like that.

As a programmer though, I’m pretty sure that I can answer that question if I have the imaginary super computer I mention before. I just have to recreate the simulation of the universe itself. Then I can tell whether or not if life can exist without any outside interference.

I highly suspect that I will have to code a new class of object called human and instantiate said object. But I will called it Atom, instead of Adam.
