This week, we have had a lot of discussions on healthcare, website revamp, and decisions on our community.

Eye on Healthcare

The healthcare discussion with Stephanie Nakajima, Georgia Davenport, and Katie Robbins these past weeks were inspired and illuminating. We were able to see a lot of tech issues surrounding organizations and how there are some parallels to the solutions that we can generalize. We will be posting a synthesis on our interviews and will provide the community ways to amplify the healthcare initiatives these amazing organizations are working on.

Whole Washington

As a starting organization, Whole Washington — led by Georgia Davenport — is currently building coalitions and reaching out to partners.

Healthcare–NOW!

Benjamin Day and Stephanie Nakajima of Healthcare-NOW! discussed the issues of running a national campaign for universal healthcare, while riding the wave of activist energy.

Operations Team Weekly Report

This week marks a wonderful event in the collective decision making within ProgCode, wherein a decision was collaboratively advised to be completely revised after it was decided to be not in alignment with ProgCode’s collaborative culture.

The decision in point is the proposed policy on when to offboard a volunteer staff from resources once they have become inactive for some time. The idea of having a bureaucratic approach of 60 days is not in accordance to our collaborative culture, so it is then advised to be revised to become more collaborative, centered on conversation and cooperation.
