There’s a huge spot I (Rapi Castillo) really want to fix, and it’s the awareness of how awesome the actions of people in the community work towards making the influence of big money obsolete. So I’ll be using Wednesday as “Impact Wednesday” to share some awesome stories of vols within each projects. I hope this encourages more volunteer work, and a greater ownership within each project. So I’m making a new #impact-wednesday channel to discuss awesome works of the members.

When Tech Warriors in NoDAPL was asking where to get seismology data, members of the community were quick to share their knowledge. And in turn has led @john to start #quake-watcher for easy seismic data access.

@tanya, aside from her awesome work at #national-voter-file, has been a prolific partner and a great resource of insights on donations and structures as we move closer to implementing #bundle-kind to help non-profits raise money through small-dollar donations.

@katyhellman jumped in at #womensmarch to see how best to support the amazing work @ceci and @vanessa.womensmarch are doing. Really excited to see so much collaboration and very excited to know where it leads!

@erika has been continuously finding ways to integrate and collaborate #project-swimmy. After talking with @turtletheturtle on how to interface with the awesome #socialroots , she’ll be talking to folks at ActionGroups.net to see how Swimmy can best support small local groups get organized.

@rchisholm has been on the ground Standing Rock finding ways to help the local journalists there get better communications. @woobietuesday has been a relentless resource of support for them and has pushed for fundraising to help the idea the TechWarrior and our members, @citizenkepler and others, have been doing. @woobietuesday has also started #enviro-tech for awesome tech projects/ideas that will help the environment.

@evepizza has been planning national watch parties for @kasperverkaik awesome documentary, Still Berning. -> #stillberning

@desmondjones has been so invaluable in his help over at #legal . The discussion there has been so amazing and his leadership on that discussion group is nothing short of amazing!

@rachel has been doing a lot of awesome weekly updates for the community! She’s been leading the effort to get everyone up to date about ProgCode and reaching out to our partners and help push for there projects!

@preston has just achieved his first on-boarding session yesterday! People loved it and are now more excited to contribute on projects here. Really excited to see more awesome on-boarding with you.

If you have an awesome story about a teammate or a fellow volunteer, please do share that with us over at #impact-wednesday

I wish (Rapi Castillo) had the time to talk about all of the amazing talent and work that is going on over here at ProgCode, but that would take him forever! Thank you again to everyone who is joining and taking an active part of our community. It is because of people like you that we are able to do the good that we do! Until next Wednesday, Keep coding the Revolution!
