A word of thanks

I spend a lot of time here in this blog calling out those in power who I see doing harm to the most vulnerable in our society. This time around, I decided to flip that and take a moment to thank the countless numbers of people I know or follow who I see doing good in the world. This poem is dedicated to everyone out there fighting the good fight. Stay strong. Your work is not unnoticed — or in vain.

Thank you for your kindness,
Nation that I love.
Plodding forth in progress,
Push, but never shove.

Thank you for remaining
True to your ideals.
Standing tall for others,
Hearing their appeals.

Thank you for your caring
Toward the least of these.
Every race and color,
Preference and creed.

Thank you for resilience
Staying true and brave,
Speaking truth to power,
Fight and never cave.

Thank you for compassion,
Your humanity.
You might feel unnoticed.
Trust that many see.

But I Digress
The Progressive Poet

I write rants and miscellaneous musings no one reads. Politically progressive pacifist (try saying that five times fast)
