ScandiPWA Updates: Issue 24
One week since launching the largest Magento PWA. Here’s what we learned
It’s been one week since Scandiweb launched Technodom.kz, the biggest single-brand eCommerce PWA in the world.
Here’s what we learned:
- We’ve just launched this HUGE project and were ready to celebrate the achievement but the site was performing, well… slow 😯 As the customer serves one country they are hosted in a local data center that required some time to browse from US/Europe, and on top of it.. faced a fierce DDoS attack! We needed to react fast. Thanks to Dev Ops team, the website was promptly migrated and working lightening-fast!
- First results are impressive! Although it’s only been one week since the PWA launch and users are getting familiar with the new UX, we already see an impressive +33% increase in Session duration and Page Views and +11% Conversion Rate increase.
- Good prerendering solution can not only maintain SEO positions for 1,000,000+ indexed URLs in Google after migration but also increase organic traffic by 23%
- PWA trend is now emerging on a corporate scale!

Recording from ScandiPWA workshop
As you may know already, ScandiPWA team took an active part in the organization of the first-ever Meet Magento event in the Baltic states last October.
While speakers were sharing their insights from the main stage, our dev team gathered the most enthusiastic developers for a PWA a workshop and helped them to create a fully running PWA store on Magento within some hours!
We are excited to share the official recording from the workshop that is now available at ScandiPWA’s Youtube channel and offer everyone to re-live this experience and learn many useful insights from ScandiPWA’s frontend lead Alfreds.

Google is planning to introduce a “Badge of Shame” for slow websites
In the recent blog post published by Chromium team, Google made it clear that the company will continue emphasizing the importance of delivering the best possible experience for users, rewarding sites providing fast experiences.
Those slow-loading websites not meeting the quality standards will be granted a “badge of shame”.
Read this article and learn how Chrome will evaluate websites, and how to prevent your website from being marked.
Google endorses Progressive Web Apps (again!)
The same day Google disclosed their plans to introduce the “badge of shame”, the company also published a post unveiling its vision of the future of the web, praising WebAssembly, Advanced Capabilities, and Progressive Web Apps.
