Day 12: Accountability

When there’s no structure, why can’t you stick to the same life style and habits? For example, as soon as I found out I was working from home tomorrow, I slipped into a lazy evening of Netflix and Youtube. The productive drive to read, write, and get my personal work done melted away. Instead of preparing for tomorrow — cooking, laying out gym clothes, etc — I instead opt for carelessness.

I’ve been consistently waking up at 6:45 to get to the gym in the city for an 8 am class. Tomorrow — Friday, will I still be able to get up at 6:45 and go on a run around the neighborhood? Will the absence of a class I need to get to hinder my motivation and ability to workout?

It’s so easy to be accountable to something or someone else, but why can’t we be accountable to ourselves?
