Let’s Build Germany’s Biggest Product Community!

In October 2015, we inaugurated the On Product meetup to bring together product managers from across the Project A family. The event focuses on networking and knowledge sharing. We schedule two to three talks per event and leave room for free and open exchange between product managers to enable them to share their knowledge and experience with one another. While, at first the event was exclusively intended for product managers within the Project A portfolio, we have gradually opened it up to other departments within Project A and started to invite external people as well.

Since we have received a lot of positive feedback about the event and there was a noticeable lack of something of this sort in Berlin at large, we asked ourselves: Why not think big? Obviously, there is demand for a meetup that connects people in the areas of PM, UX, and IT in Berlin. What’s more, we feel we could contribute a lot to such a forum by sharing the knowledge we have gained from our operational involvement in our ventures.

So it’s our pleasure to be able to announce that we have opened up the format to the public by creating a meetup group. The event will be hosted on a bi-monthly basis by an alternating venture from our portfolio — at least for now. Attendees will have the opportunity to get to know the companies and their PM methodologies as well as their general working styles and the challenges inherent in their respective business models. One talk will be reserved for the hosting venture while all talks are supposed to treat activities, methods, experiences, and lessons learnt — all in a very hands-on manner, no hot air, no “in the future we want to…”

The first public meetup, hosted by nu3, was already a big success. We expected a 40% no-show rate and were very thrilled that it only turned out to be a tiny 10% in the end. We saw a lot of new faces at the event, but of course all our favourite usual suspects also showed up too.
