03/30:

Our team presented our initial research, some areas we wanted to explore and our early service proposition to our class. We received feedback that our service was not specific enough yet, but, Philips liked the idea that we were trying to focus on low income children/families. They warned against making uneducated assumptions and making decisions without data to back these decisions.

04/02:

We met over the weekend to decide how to create a more refined service proposition. We consolidated all of our early ideas for services ([Our service] is a [blank] that provides [value] + [value] by doing [action] + [action]) into one space.

Consolidating all of the different ideas for our recreational service

We came up with the refined service and what it provides but we were unsure of the exact execution so we wanted to wait until after we had done more primary research. This is the the initial refined service proposition:

Our service is an asthma-friendly program set-up kit that provides a simple way to create a community program that puts children’s health first by doing (action).

This new service proposition helped us understand where we were lacking information and put our team on the same page. We moved to brainstorming what our service may provide.

A service that helps you set up an after-school program, a service kit:

  • Helps community structure
  • A safe space (specifically for children with asthma but ideally it would be all inclusive)
  • Involvement
  • Co-creation
  • Long term action plan
  • Ratio between physical health and fun activities
  • Use data to help parents find places for care: track where you are, where the nearest clinic is, etc.
