TEST FLIGHT 01 — JANUARY 18, 2020
Welcome to the very first Large Scale Testing round for our Demo line of Game builds. As we lack a tutorial as of now, please refer to the guide below for some clarifications on how the game works!
Downloading the Game and Signing up:
From the link in the Email, you’ll be taken to the page with the “Accept Invite” button. Make sure you are signed into the google account that you registered with by tapping the square button on the top left.
Once you’ve done that, things are pretty straightforward. Go ahead and download it from Google Play via the link on the page you’re taken to, or search up Project Ceris in the Play Store itself.
Usernames can be 3–24 characters long, and contain non-standard characters. Must be unique.
Passwords must be 8 characters minimum.
Choosing a Faction and Secretary:
When you log in for the first time, you will be met with the faction selection screen.
Tapping on a faction will give you a brief summary and select it. In this state, tapping “Join Faction” on the bottom right will confirm your faction choice.
Once on the main menu, you will see a button with a bright golden star labeled secretary. Tapping it will bring you to this screen, and you simply have to choose and confirm your choice.
Gameplay: Formations and Basic Battle Mechanics.
Going into the Formation tab first, we’re greeted with this screen.
Now- before you start putting down your mages, you probably want to know where they should go. Tap on the “Info” button on the top left of the screen, and you’ll see 6 types of formations that are available, all giving various buffs and debuffs.
Unfortunately, mage detail screens aren’t ready yet- which means that you’ll only be figuring out what skills and stats each mages have once you get into a battle. We apologize for this inconvenience, and will work on resolving it as soon as possible.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the resources in battle:
- Health: Standard in-game Health, larger classes of planes usually have more.
- Heat: Crucial Resource. Used when moving mages and using skills/items.
- Light ATK DMG: Amount of Light DMG a Mage can deal before negation.
- Heavy ATK DMG: Amount of Heavy DMG a Mage can deal before negation.
- Ground ATK DMG: Amount of ground damage dealt. (WIP)
- Armor: More Armor means more negation of Light ATK DMG.
- EVA: More EVA means more negation of Heavy ATK DMG.
- Flight Speed: Affects the turn order.
- Climb: Affects the rate of Heat regeneration of a unit per round.
With that in mind, here’s an example formation:
Now, you may have noticed the “Equipment” tab. We’re currently working on adding more to the game, but currently you have two sets of two kinds of equipment to choose from. A mage may equip up to 6 equipment at a time, but there may be no duplicates.
Finishing off: Battle UI Manipulation
Now that you have your first basic formation ready, go to the main screen and then to “Sorties”.
Entering the Story Replay section, you’ll see three Nodes- basically stages. PvE is undergoing a very large overhaul right now, so we apologize for the lack of levels. We hope to add more as time goes by.
As you can see in the example above, holding down skills will show you their descriptions. Tapping on a skill will activate it, prompting you to choose a target.
When not using a skill, you may tap on a friendly or enemy character to see their stats- as well as hold down their buff/debuff icons above their HP/HEAT bars to see their exact descriptions.
In PvP, there exists skills that enemy Mages can have which will change the position of your Mages, potentially ruining your formation! You can check if your formation is in a valid configuration at any given time by looking at the two indicators to the right of the “Form. Info” tab; the left and right indicators indicate the state of the formations of the two sides respectively. Moving a mage will cost heat, but it’s as simple as holding and dragging a mage to a new spot during their turn.
While we may have a limited amount of PvE levels as of this release, there’s a lot more gameplay to be had with PvP.
You can choose a Random Match, which will put you against anyone else who is queuing for the game at the time, or set up a match with someone by Hosting or Joining a room with a code.
This concludes much of the introduction needed for this version of the demo. We will be updating this page as needed, and constantly communicating with our testers through the community server.
Thank you for testing the game out!
We’re looking forward to your input and adding additional features to this Demo Build Line in the near future.
