Once in a blue moon — Between me and you

Photo by Nathan Dumlao on Unsplash

The tides beckoned

Preoccupied with picking up the pieces

Of self-sabotage wreckages

Chilling my bones, hope freezes

Sat on the shore

Listened for awhile

What should I fight for

How long until my next smile

Third time is the charm

And I gave it a chance

Tacos void of potential harm

The last prospect of romance

Then you laughed

And damn that smile

My heart you might have

Think I could stay here for a while
