YouTuber Giaco Whatever shows how to create an extended kill switch for a table saw power button.

The device, which is made from wood, lets a user quickly power off a table saw with a push of the knee instead of a reach with a hand. This feature potentially offers both both speed and safety. For example, if a cut started getting away from you while passing through the blade, you could shut off the saw within seconds without ever having to take your hands off the workpiece.

Add this one to my ever-growing to-do list.

Giaco is one of the best maker videographers on YouTube. His photography is fantastic. His projects radiate creativity. And now’s a good time to subscribe to his channel. He’s in the middle of a “30 days, 30 videos” challenge with fellow maker David Waelder. These two are putting out some really fun stuff right now.

Here’s a few more examples of Giaco’s work:

Five DIY keyring gift ideas

DIY Soldering Helping Hands

Wood and aluminum note pad

Ergonomic sanding pad

Enjoy! Or, as the Italian Giaco might say, divertiti!
